The concept ‘A Resting Place...’ stemmed from my observation of my environment and people who feel chronically tired mentally and physically, which led me to question what is considered a resting place when existing in modern society.

2023 Bag Collection

The primary inspiration of this collection are draped saris and tunics from both South Asian and Greek ancient sculptures. The rich historical and cultural significance of these sculptures was my initial attraction to drawing inspiration from them. The draping details of these sculptures was at the forefront of this collection. I wanted to illustrate how these designs reflect a spiritual realm separate from the natural world, while at the same time being grounded in reality with the asymmetrical features of the bags. This collection to me is a fusion of the transcendental consciousness attached to the sculptures, clashing with the realistic world we experience today that is far from perfection.
